Antioquia by Motorcycle: Best Places to Camp and Explore

Hello everyone!   




Welcome to my blog. Today I want to talk about my favorite department: Antioquia. Antioquia is a paradise for people who love to travel by motorcycle and sleep in a tent. The roads are beautiful and the nature is amazing. Here are my top 4 places: 


1. Guatapé and El Peñol.

This is the most famous place. 
It is only 2 hours from Medellín. The road is perfect for motorcycles. You can climb the big rock, El Peñol, and see the incredible view. 
There are many camping zones near the lake. 
It is very safe and you can swim. 



2. San Rafael.


San Rafael is the capital of rivers. 
It is perfect for campers. It is 30 minutes from Guatapé. 
There you can find many cheap camping areas next to the river. 
My favorite activity is to cook outside and swim in natural pools. 
It is very quiet and relaxing. 




3. Jardín.

Jardín is a beautiful traditional town in the 
southwest of Antioquia. 
The motorcycle trip from Medellín 
is long (about 3 hours) but the mountains 
are spectacular. In Jardín you can camp, 
visit waterfalls, and see many birds. 
The people are very friendly. 




4. Santa Fe de Antioquia and San Jerónimo.
 


If you want sun and hot weather, this is the best option.
It is only 1 hour from Medellín. 
The road is easy and perfect for a short trip. 
Many hostels there have a camping area with a swimming pool. 





 In conclusion, I think Antioquia is the best place to travel if you have a motorcycle and a tent. You don't need a lot of money, you only need a good spirit of adventure.
